Radboud Scholarship Programme

The Radboud Scholarship Program is quite competitive. It provides brilliant, highly motivated non-EEA students with exceptional academic accomplishments with the opportunity to receive a full scholarship to a Radboud University Master’s degree program taught entirely in English.

Radboud Scholarship Offers

Each year, the Radboud Scholarship Programme provides a number of partial scholarships to students excluding Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree programs and joint-degree Master’s degree programs.

The Radboud Scholarship decreases your tuition charge from €16,000 to €2,209,-.In 2022/2023, for example, a grant holder will pay only €2,209,- instead of €16,000.

For the academic years 2022-2023, a total of 37 Radboud Scholarships are available:

Additional Benefits & Information

NOTE: In the Netherlands, the costs of living and studying are not covered. On our website, we provide an estimate of these living and educational costs (verwijst naar een andere website).


If you are awarded a scholarship and accepted into a two-year Master’s program, you must pass all courses in the first year to be eligible for the second year’s stipend.


NOTE that the Radboud Encouragement Scholarship, Fulbright-Radboud Scholarship, Orange Tulip Scholarship, and Holland Scholarship cannot be coupled with the Radboud Scholarship.

You may apply for more than one scholarship if you are eligible, but only one will be awarded. Please note, however, that you cannot apply for both the Radboud Scholarship Program and the Radboud Encouragement Scholarship; you must choose one of the two.

Radboud University

Eligibility Criterias :

You are eligible to apply for a Radboud Scholarship if you :

  • Hold a passport from a country that is not a member of the European Union or the European Economic Area (EU/EEA)
  • For other reasons, you are not eligible for the lower EEA tuition fee.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from a country other than the Netherlands, no degrees from the Netherlands, and no previous schooling in the Netherlands (exchange programmes excluded, provided that they are part of the bachelor degree achieved outside the Netherlands)
  • Meet the English language proficiency requirements for the Master’s program of your choice
  • Have been fully admitted to an English-taught Master’s degree program beginning September 1, 2022 as stated in the formal letter of admission
  • Are able to meet the requirements for obtaining a visa for the Netherlands as stated in the formal letter of admission.

Selection Criteria :

The selection of the scholarship recipients will be based on the following criteria:

Academic excellence

  • Outstanding academic results in your current field of study, as evidenced by grades, test scores, and publications, for example.Your previous degree’s relevance to the master’s program.
  • The university’s ranking where you earned your previous degree (s).

Ambition

  • The quality and relevancy of your Master’s program motivation letter.
  • Show promise in the relevant subject of study based on previous achievements, performances, and efforts.
  • Relevant work experience and/or extracurricular activities, such as internships or volunteer work.
  • Quality of recommendations in the two reference letters, preferably two academic references

The selection committee of the faculty to which a student applies for the Radboud Scholarship will review each application individually.

The above-mentioned factors were used to make this choice. Other factors may be used by faculties; some study programs, for example, include interviews.

How to Apply for Radboud Scholarship

You can apply for a Radboud Scholarship by specifying that you want to apply for a Radboud Scholarship when you apply for a Master’s program via the OSIRIS Application system.

After that, you will be asked to upload three more documents: two reference letters and a curriculum vitae. You can upload the same documents for your scholarship application as you did for your Master’s program application.

Admission to the Master’s program does not imply selection for the scholarship.

You must have completed your application in the online OSIRIS Application system 

Please note that applications that are not complete will be disqualified from consideration for the Radboud Scholarship. Some information and/or papers may be missing or unreadable in an incomplete application.

As a result, please be urged to submit your application in the online OSIRIS Application no later than late 2022 for the 2023 program, so that the Admissions Office has enough time to assess your application and notify you if it is incomplete.

We also suggest that you submit your proof of English proficiency prior to the deadline.

Radboud 2022 Scholarship Applicants

You will be informed about the final decision by department Student Life and International Mobility with respect to your application for a Radboud Scholarship before mid-April 2022 (date subject to change).
