The Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation Scholarship is a partnership scholarship with the Sciences Po American Foundation that provides merit-based scholarships to meritorious African students from Sub-Saharan African countries to gain access to France’s higher education system.
The Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation was founded in 2005 to carry out the vision of its founder, Geneviève McMillan (1922–2008), and to honor her friend, the artist Reba Stewart (1930–1971).
The scholarship honors McMillan’s love of the African continent.

Eligibility Requirements
The Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation scholarship is awarded based on academic excellence, social criteria, and the following criteria:
- Candidates must be Sub-Saharan African citizens.
- Candidates must have finished high school in a Sub-Saharan African country and
- be accepted into Sciences Po’s undergraduate Europe-Africa program.

Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation Scholarship Benefits/ Coverage
Every year, successful students will receive a scholarship covering the full tuition fees at Sciences Po for the duration of their undergraduate studies.
Because social criteria are considered, an additional grant to cover living expenses may be awarded.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships
- Deadline for undergraduate programme (applicants from foreign secondary schools): 22nd February 2023.
- Deadline for undergraduate programme (applicants from French secondary schools): 10th April 2023.
How to Apply
Candidates must first apply to the Sciences Po Europe Africa undergraduate program. Applications for the Emile Boutmy scholarship should be completed on the Sciences Po Admissions website and include all supporting documents requested. The deadline for applying for the Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation Scholarship is the same as the deadline for applying for the Emile Boutmy scholarship.

All candidates must apply for the Geneviève Stewart Foundation Scholarship within two weeks of the student’s application by sending an application to scholarship@usscpo.org
This application must include a cover letter outlining why you want to study at Sciences Po and receive the Geneviève McMillan-Reba Stewart Foundation Scholarship.
